About Us
Welcome to Beep, the preeminent guide to life and entertainment
in the Chicago suburbs. And yes, there’s a lot more to do the ’burbs than just quilt
shows and carnivals.
Beep features everything from local bands and the hottest clubs and restaurants
to tips on fitness, fashion and dating. In fact, Beep has the most extensive listings
of suburban events, night clubs and restaurants.
Our stories are divided into five sections: Get Out (entertainment), Get a Life
(lifestyle), Get Played (game reviews and tech tidbits), Get Smart (need-to-know
news, from the latest on celebs to oddest of the odd) and Get Together (message
boards, blogs and searchable user profiles). In addition to stories, each section
features bloggers writing on related topics in personal and provocative ways, Web
polls and forums so you can sound off and debate.
So go ahead, click around, yell at our bloggers, rate the restaurants and rant on
the forums. This is your site, so have at it! Plus, the more you complain, compliment
and kvetch, the more lively the site will be, and the more likely your comments
will become part of our weekly magazine.
Each week we publish the best stories, blogs and polls from the Web site an – as
determined by you. Yes, we don’t choose the news, you do. This collaboration ensures
only the best stories and blogs are published. And since there’s 30,000 copies of
Beep's magazine at nearly 700 sites locations in Cook, Lake, DuPage, Kane, McHenry
and DeKalb counties, places like colleges, fitness centers and bars, you’ll be famous!
Beep was founded in 2006 by Paddock Publications, the publisher of the Daily Herald.
Our offices are located in a tiny nook at 155 E. Algonquin Road, Arlington Heights,
IL 60005.
