Vote for your favorite films and a chance to win our Oscar prize package.
The Academy Awards just don't cut it. Every year I watch, and every year I think they get something wrong. Not only that, why couldn't be more than five nominations, categories that fans care about (no offense "Best Achievement in Sound Editing), and why couldn't I see who got second place?
Instead of sitting still -- I created the Scorecard Movie Awards.
Categories range from the typical (Best Entire Cast, Best Actor, Best Film) to the atypical (Best Ending, Best Quote, Funniest). If you have seen two movies or 200, it doesn't matter. Just vote on the films you saw and leave the other nominations blank. Twenty-seven questions (including a Hall of Fame) and a chance to have your opinion heard.
This is the fifth year I have conducted the Scorecard Movie Awards. In 2003, "Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" won with a score of 9.08, and "In America" won for Entire Cast with a 9.27. Last year, "Brokeback Mountain" won with an 8.52 ("Crash" finished third) and "Walk the Line" won for Entire Cast with a 9.05. And the quote of the year for 2005? "Tattoo on the lower back, might as well be a bullseye," from "The Wedding Crashers."

Also, once voting you may notice some differences, such as Forest Whitaker and Meryl Streep being nominated for Best Supporting Actor/Actress. This is because THEY ARE SUPPORTING ACTORS. Yes, they are integral to the movie's plot, but so is every other actor in the film. And, yes, they are included in the title of their movies, but so what? Each is in about a third of the film and both James McAvoy ("Last King of Scotland") and Anne Hathaway ("The Devil Wears Prada") have the entire movie told through their life. Studios nominate based on name recognition and marketing potential, not the actual role in the film and it drives me insane ... I shall now step down from the soapbox.
Instructions: If you've seen the movie, you can vote on it. It's that simple. Most categories, you will vote from 1-10, with 10 being the highest. You are scoring each individual nomination, not ranking them. So you can have multiple 7s, 8s, 10s, it doesn't matter. And your favortie nomination doesn't have to receive a 10.
Now get voting, and pass this a long to your friends. Just make sure they have seen at least one movie in 2006. Complete results will be available Monday, February
26th.
Also, once you submit your ballot, you will be automatically entered for a chance to win our Oscar prize package.
